field notes: paris
what i wore/ate/listened to/spent money on/watched while in paris.
i’m still working on compiling all my journal entries, notes, photos, and screenshots into a spreadsheet of my recommended shops and eats. stay sat for that.
emotional baggage: my marge sherwood bowling bag was the perfect size for our day long schleps. they updated her size which i don’t love as much, but the brown, short handled version is cute and on sale right now.
date night: throw 2 cups, 2 napkins, a bottle opener, and a knife into a tote. grab some cheese from a fromagerie, and a baguette from a bakery. walk to lot of wine. chat with the owner about your prefs, he’ll dig around in his cellar and find you the right bottle. if you’re taking an uber, get dropped off in front of palais de tokyo, head down the stairs, and across the street so you’re riverside. sit by the docked boats, staring at the eiffel tower from across the water. drink your wine, tongue kiss, smoke a cigarette, eat some bread and cheese.
listen: this playlist was on repeat.
5 dish minimum: please go to kubri. order the cauliflower fattoush, the cabbage, hummus, kibbeh, orange wine and granita. definitely book a couple weeks out. unreal service, i didn’t want our dinner to end.
gowns: i wore the shit out of this aritzia poplin skirt. it was precious under trenches, with vintage button downs, and cashmere sweaters. this dress from rixo was the most comfortable dress i’ve ever worn, and it spiced up my otherwise neutral outfits. this white dress was my ideal date night look. loafers and a fun sock, beloved by many a girlies, i felt like an angel wearing it. one thing i wish i packed, was this gingham skirt.
wine watch: i chewed through drops of god while on my trip. it was the most entertained i’ve been by a show in a long time.
baby burger: dumbo was sceney but the smashburgers lacey and crispy, fries were well seasoned.
italian in paris: scarpetta had a small menu, fresh pastas, great wine, and a cozy atmosphere.
upper decker: this cashmere polo and this ribbed cashmere crew carried me through the crisp outside and stuffy museum insides. beneath every button down, polo, and sweater, i wore one of my favourite ribbed tanks.
PSA: i’m happy to report that mamiche is very much worth the hype. the wee boulangerie was around the corner from one of the places we stayed, and very much worth the 14 minute saturday morning wait.
ratatouille: a *must watch* every time you’re in paris. it gets you excited to eat and scoot around the city.
pearl necklace: no, literally. i wore this every day.
tool kit: cold pressed immunity shots, fizzy vitamin C tablets, and peppermint tea were immediate buys when we landed in paris. the cure for any chilly afternoon or sore tummy is a cup of tea in your hotel room. the vit c was a must, a daily driver if you will. immunity shots came in handy to fend off travel bugs. there’s lots of little organic grocers around the city, pop into one of those and stock the fuck up.
ofr: the best phone-free book store with a gallery in the back. the only spot that carries ginny sims ceramics irl. i’m kicking myself for not picking one up.
inspector gadget: trench coats were the main character of my trip. i packed three, two of which were vintage, one i got five plus years ago from the frankie shop. when it comes to trench shopping, i always recommend trying to source vintage before new. they’re more affordable and 99% of the time, they’re better quality.
toot toot, beep beep: these sneakers carried me through my 18km days. they looked *so* cute with girlie dresses and colourful socks.
yes cap: why didn’t anyone tell me that migraines havers benefit so greatly from wearing hats? my boring, dumb ballcap protected my sensitive eyes from the city stimuli. i just bought this guy to infuse a little colour into my winter outfits.
souvenir: la trésorerie, merci, and fleux are my chosen home stores. overlook the tacky shit and find some cute candle stick holders, ceramics, kitchen knives, and linens. customizing cutlery at sabre paris provided a high unlike anything my homebody-identifying ass has ever experienced. go get a coffee and the eggs at cafe berry, tour a couple galleries, then boot over to sabre to spend money on spoons.
wet 2 go: the beloved thermal water spray came in handy for the mornings after orange wine, post-sauna, pre-train.
on my mind, in my cart: i have my eye on this rugby shirt. these shoe accessories would dress up a flat or purse. i want to wear this tee for new years, and this hat for winter walks. i had a dream i ran into paul mescal while wearing this tank. about to order this eyeliner in orchid, per my friends recommendation. apparently it makes your eyes hypnotizing? will report back.
okay, my gummy is kicking in. strawberry sativa, if you were wondering. i fear if i try to write any longer, this piece is going to be even more error-ridden xoxo.

will you give some amsterdam recommendations <33 going in march
