after what has felt like forever, i’ve found my next home. it took some time, and the list of prerequisites was steep (fenced yard, 3 bedrooms, lots of storage, wood floors), but i snagged a gem of a spot. weighing in at at almost 100 years old with a wraparound porch and wood burning fireplace, there’s so much character in the space i could vomit. there’s lilacs in the front, fruit trees in the back, and a farmers market within walking distance. i’m giddy at the thought of making a house a home again, as my storage unit bursts with both well-loved and untouched wares. here’s what i’m working with, and what i’m envisioning for the space.

walls + lights

if you’ve been in my orbit for some time, then you know how fond of my lord cowboy prints i am. this one got the most compliments from guests, and i think this one would be a fun pop of colour in the new office. this green dancer would be a lively addition to the guest room. old school gallery art has lots of prints that would look delicious in a vintage or hand painted frame. these dancers belong in the living room.

as a hater of all things big light, i take this genre of shopping quite seriously. this drapey cotton light shade feels cozy. this light cover from (renter friendly company) tulip shades would be charming in the entryway. i also love it in blue. natalya jane has some precious ceramic lamps that would warm up a side table or office. the forever classic hay paper shade will likely hang over the dining room table. to adorn my various cords, i’m thinking of the iko iko covers.

so much fun can be had with hangings that aren’t prints or canvases. marta claret’s studio is a great example of wall trinkets done well. there’s something that feels very permanent about peppering your walls with little treasures. it’s almost a declaration, ‘i’m here, and i intend to be for some time’. i’m finally ready for some permanence after what’s felt like years of floating, so i’m hungry to expand my wall things collection. i’m on the lookout for a candlestick holder, any kind of small mirror, and various vintage treats. i think what i’m most excited about is collaborating with my papa (a stained glass baddie), on a piece for the house, poppy templeton is the muse for that project.
